As expected, WEC 50 is set for August with a 10-bout lineup.
The event will air on Versus and takes place Aug. 18 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
WEC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz will meet Joseph Benavidez in the evening’s main event, and lightweight contenders Shane Roller and Anthony Pettis will face each other in the co-main event.
The main event represents Cruz’s first title defense since earning the belt in March with a second-round TKO over Brian Bowles. Cruz originally earned the title shot after claiming a unanimous-decision victory over Benavidez, who has since rebounded impressively.
Three additional bouts are scheduled to air in the evenings broadcast. Zach Micklewright vs. Bart Palaszewski, Scott Jorgensen vs. Brad Pickett, and Chad Mendes vs. Cub Swanson are all featured on the main card.
It’s likely that the victor of the Pettis-Roller bout will claim number one contender status for the WEC lightweight title held by current champ Ben Henderson.
